Degumming
Fully continuous Degumming cum neutralising, bleaching with filteration and deodorisation.
In this type of continuous refinery, refining of vegetable oil is undertaken by using neutralising, bleaching and deodorisation. This is the latest technology available in our country and with this it is possible to achieve better refining quality and lower processing loss ian total process. This process also minimizes steam, electricity and chemical consumption.
Degumming & Neutralisation:
Degumming is the process of removal of gums from crude oil, in which they are dissolved. There are two types of gums; hydratable and non-hydratable. Hydratable gums can be removed from oil by hot water treatment. Oil contains non-hydratable gums required to give phosphoric acid treatment for removal of gums.

Neutralisation is intended mainly for deacidifying crude fatty oils or degummed oils. By treatment of the oil with alkali (normally caustic lye) the alkali will neutralise the free fatty acids contained in the oil and form soapstock. The soapstock is heavier than oil and can be removed from the oil by centrifugal separation. Raw oil is neutralized in Short mix Plant
and controlled the process parameters. Most often the crude oil is pretreated with acid for removal of gums.
